Frequently asked questions.
When are the classes?
Classes are various weeknights, typically Tuesday nights from 7:00pm - 8:30pm. Private lessons are scheduled based on instructor availability.
Where are the classes held?
Nikolay Studios
7003 Presidents Drive
Suite 700
Orlando, FL 32809
Are all of the classes the same?
Beginner 1 focuses on lip sync and eye focus for puppetry. This is the very foundation of your technique, and repetition of this class is encouraged for proficiency.
Beginner 2 focuses on acting and animation techniques as they apply to puppetry. We’ll cover concepts of emotion and movement, and how to apply them to your character’s motivation.
Each class in the 6-week program is unique, with complexity building progressively throughout the course. Hand and rod puppets are layered in at this intermediate level. For this reason, we require students to complete both beginner classes before being assessed and invited to the 6-week program. Additional beginner classes may be recommended based on proficiency.
When will the next Intermediate 6-week program begin?
Students who have demonstrated proficiency in the Beginner classes will be invited to the next Intermediate program, from September 15-October 20, 2026.
I want to sign up for the 6-week program, but I have conflicts with some of the dates. Can I still participate?
Scheduling conflicts may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us directly to discuss your specific scheduling needs.
How much do the classes cost?
The full 6-week program is $180. Beginner and specialty classes are $30 each. Private lessons are $50. Any student who completes the 6-week program will receive half off of all future beginner and intermediate classes. Payment is due in full at the time of registration, and no refunds or credits will be given.
Do I have to bring my own puppet?
No! We provide all the materials needed for class, including hand and rod puppets for intermediate classes, and ping pong ball eyes or “peepers” for beginner classes.
